Lexus will stay focused in hybrids

BMW and Toyota will work together on environmentally friendly engines of next generation. New-adopted deal contains development of lithium batteries, but no work on diesel engines to provide Lexus with them, as it was decided before.

New contract doesn’t provide Lexus with diesel engines

Under this agreement BMW will make 1,6 and 2,0 liter diesel engines for European companies of Toyota concern, and this won’t provide Lexus with diesel engines. This measure should help Toyota, as the main demand on the market stays strongly for diesel-engined vehicles. And Lexus, thus, left without new diesels, will be producing new hybrid models.
